There are four components to consider when learning a foreign language-speaking, listening, writing, reading-where speaking and writing involve the expression of thoughts in the target language, essentially output, while reading and listening deal with comprehension and understanding, essentially input. Though each component is somewhat related to each other, to become fluent requires a concentrated effort in each aspect.
With the above in mind, this blog focuses on the input aspects of language learning in Italian. I will be choosing some short video clips and will attempt to provide a transcription for each one. (Please note that I am not a native speaker of Italian and that mistakes will pop up from time to time, so corrections and suggestions are welcome!) I do not have a particular criteria for selecting clips, other than that I hope to find and use interesting subjects or things that will be helpful from a vocabulary/grammatical point of view, while focusing on providing as accurate a transcription as possible. Listen, read and transcribe each post as many times as is necessary to learn the text and vocabulary. With daily effort, I hope, you will begin to see positive results! Buono studio!
